Under the noble directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Alqasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Private Education Authority and Sharjah Education Academy have launched the community initiative "Rise for the Teacher". This initiative aims to highlight the efforts of educational professionals as the backbone of the educational process and the fundamental pillar shaping the future. It aims to appreciate their efforts tangibly, reflecting positively on their well-being and professional development.
The initiative, which is one of the most important outcomes of the 3rd edition of the Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education organized by Sharjah Education Academy last February under the theme " Pioneering Future Education ", calls on all segments of society, including students, parents, school owners, educational administrations, universities, authorities, and relevant educational ministries, to support and enhance the status of teachers, each according to their role and specialization. This is a significant step that recognizes the pivotal role teachers play in society and in shaping future generations.
The "Rise for the Teacher" initiative goes beyond celebrating teachers as individuals, extending its scope to encourage all segments of society to participate in this process tangibly. This is achieved through investing in the provision of educational and developmental resources and opportunities, which encompass professional development programs, grants for educational projects, and the development and implementation of high-quality academic programs to qualify and train teachers, all of which positively impact the well-being of teachers. Additionally, the initiative calls for fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors to provide a comprehensive package of benefits that contribute to enhancing well-being for teachers and developing their innovative skills.
Furthermore, Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha Alhashimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Private Education Authority and President of the Sharjah Education Academy, extended her thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Alqasimi for his supportive initiatives in education. She noted that granting the Sharjah Private Education Authority the responsibility of overseeing the implementation of the initiative aligns with the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and with the strategy and plan of SPEA for the years 2022-2024, which focus on enhancing the quality, efficiency, and excellence of the private education system in the Emirate and developing the educational environment and outcomes.
She stated, "Through 'Rise for the Teacher,' Sharjah sheds light on the importance of teachers as the cornerstone of intellectual development, celebrating their dedication and commitment to educating future generations." She explained that the overall goals of this initiative are to create a supportive environment where teachers feel valued and respected for their pivotal role and contribution to the growth and prosperity of communities. She emphasized the need to work at all levels to ensure a healthy working environment for teachers inside and outside the classroom, meeting their needs and addressing their challenges, in order to promote a culture of care and respect within the education sector.
