Sharjah Private Education Authority organizes its 2nd meeting of the Private School Directors Council

Last Tuesday, Sharjah Private Education Authority organized the second meeting of the Private School Principals' Council for the current year 2024 at its headquarters in Sharjah. The meeting aimed to elect the executive committee of the Private School Principals' Council in Sharjah.

The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha Alhashimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and His Excellency Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, along with members of the Private School Principals' Council and supervisors from SPEA.

Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha Alhashimi emphasized the importance of the council and its role in fostering communication with private schools. She pointed out that this consultative meeting significantly contributes to the exchange of ideas and experiences among school Principals, enhancing mutual understanding aimed at developing the private education sector in Sharjah. She highlighted the significance of these periodic meetings in promoting a culture of effective   communication and collaboration, reflecting the SPEA’s commitment to achieving the highest levels of educational excellence and sustainable development in the educational community. 

His Excellency Ali Al Hosani expressed his gratitude to school Principals for their cooperation and continuous support, emphasizing their essential role in improving performance quality in private schools. He underscored SPEA’s role in enabling schools to achieve sustainable development through coordination and collaboration among private school Principals to achieve educational goals. He called on everyone to exert more efforts and focus on quality projects that highlight Sharjah’s potential in the education sector, given the great support the educational field received from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Alqasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Mr.Ziad Shatat clarified that the purpose of the recent meeting of the Private School Principals' Council members was to select the executive committee of the council, responsible for implementing the council's initiatives and coordinating with the field and SPEA. The committee consists of five key members: the council president, vice president, secretary, and two executive members. He emphasized that the council is the voice of the field, serving as an effective means of communication with private schools, providing feedback, and making decisions. They are key partners for SPEA. He also mentioned that SPEA will announce the formation of the School Principals' Council in the coming weeks, reflecting its commitment to partnership with all stakeholders in the private education system in the emirate.

Majd Hussein, President of the Executive Committee of the Council, expressed her hope for achieving many accomplishments in Sharjah's private schools. She emphasized her vision, which focuses on cooperation, especially as Sharjah's private schools have made significant progress over the past six years, necessitating continuous work through ongoing preparation and planning. She noted that the efforts have resulted in outstanding school projects, hoping that these projects will contribute to fostering a productive and constructive collaboration culture, leading to unprecedented academic outcomes.

The meeting concluded with the formation of the election committee for the Private School Principals' Council. Majd Hussein, Principal of the American School of Creative Science, was elected as the council president, and Jim Stearns, Principal of Victoria International School in Khorfakkan, was elected as the vice president. Valerie Thompson, CEO / School Principal of GEMS Westminster School, was elected as the secretary, while Dr.Raed Subhi Abdulla , Principal of the Taryam American Private School, and Samar Khalid Murad, Principal of the International School of Creative Science, were elected as executive members. The meeting ended with the signing of the membership charter, reinforcing a spirit of cooperation, and understanding among private schools in the emirate.  
 
The Private School Principals' Council is a voluntary advisory council representing all private schools in Sharjah, comprising a selected group of competent and experienced school Principals who have the ability to work effectively. They collaborate with the Sharjah Private Education Authority to elevate the educational and pedagogical system.
