SPEA Establishment Law
The Sharjah Private Education Authority was established by Emiri Decree No. 45 of 2018 issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Alqasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah – may Allah protect him. SPEA is the local authority responsible for regulating private education in the emirate. This includes overseeing private schools and training centers that offer educational, technical, and vocational training services.

Proud to Be a Teacher
The “Proud to be a teacher” program, the first of its kind in the country, is one of the projects aimed at providing suitable job opportunities in the private sector for Emiratis seeking employment based on their competencies and abilities.
Your Children are Safe
A smart application aimed at tracking students on school buses in the Emirate of Sharjah. This application enables parents to easily access and control alerts regarding their children's school transportation through a smartphone. Managed by the school transportation tracking services company Maaman Parent, the application is available on both the Google Play and Apple stores.
Arabic Language Forums
SPEA, in collaboration with the Sharjah Education Academy, annually organizes the International Forum for Arabic Teachers to celebrate teachers and underscore the significance of their central role in delivering an exceptional educational experience. The forum features virtual sessions and workshops conducted on the Sharjah Education Academy platform. Participants will receive a professional development certificate for each workshop, with each session accounting for one professional development hour.
Sharjah is a Benchmark Emirate for International Assessments
Sharjah has been accredited as a benchmark emirate for international assessments following the announcement made by the Sharjah Private Education Authority regarding its schools' successful performance on the " TIMSS" tests in mathematics and science, which are sponsored by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement. Sharjah's schools achieved over 500 points, competing with participants from 60 countries.
Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence
The Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence was established in 1994-1995 under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Alqasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. It is considered the first educational award at the UAE level.

In line with its strategic plan, SPEA is committed to promoting and disseminating a culture of "continuous improvement." It has implemented several programs and taken steps aimed at enhancing the performance of its affiliated educational institutions. This commitment has led to tangible improvements in the performance of educational institutions, as evidenced by the following actions:
The Private School Principals' Council and the Private Nursery Principals' Council
The Nursery Principals' Council is a voluntary educational advisory body representing all private and government nurseries in Sharjah. Composed of a distinguished group of experienced female principals, the Council's primary responsibilities include contributing to the development of strategic plans aligned with SPEA’s future vision, interpreting educational policies and directives, identifying field needs, and proposing appropriate solutions.
Similarly, the Private School Principals Principals' Council serves as a voluntary advisory body representing all private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah. It is comprised of a select group of skilled and experienced private school principals. The Council collaborates with the Sharjah Private Education Authority to enhance the educational and pedagogical system through effective cooperation and shared expertise.
