Issuance of Four Commemorative Stamps at the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair to Foster Student Creativity and Cultural Connection

The Sharjah Private Education Authority, in collaboration with 7X, launched a set of four commemorative stamps, in the presence of His Excellency Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and His Excellency Ayoub Ahli, Director General of Emirates Post, the postal arm of 7X, along with several directors and executives. This launch took place at SPEA's platform during its participation in the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair. These commemorative stamps can be viewed and purchased by visiting the Emirates Post platform at the fair.

This initiative underscores the significance of postage stamps as prominent cultural artifacts both locally and globally, while celebrating Sharjah’s achievements in supporting culture and education. These stamps mark the first ever to commemorate the Sharjah International Book Fair, highlighting SPEA’s efforts to strengthen cultural and artistic ties and encourage students to explore their creative talents through participation in national initiatives. The project aims to establish postage stamps as symbols that connect future generations to their cultural heritage and national identity.

The designs for the stamps were selected through a competition organized by SPEA in collaboration with 7X and the Sharjah Book Authority. Over 200 designs were submitted by students from private schools in Sharjah. The competition provided an opportunity for students to showcase their artistic and creative abilities in stamp design, promoting engagement in cultural and artistic activities and bringing their talents into the spotlight.

His Excellency Ali Al Hosani expressed pride in this initiative, aimed at encouraging students to take part in cultural and artistic endeavors and hone their talents in artistic design. He emphasized that the issuance of these stamps not only fosters artistic creativity but also connects students to major cultural initiatives such as the Sharjah International Book Fair. “We are committed to creating a supportive environment that empowers students to express themselves innovatively and showcase their creative potential,” he said. He added that this initiative aligns with SPEA’s mission to nurture a generation that actively participates in key cultural events across the emirate, reinforcing their connection to their national identity and cultural heritage.

His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Alashram, CEO of 7X, stated: “The launch of this distinguished collection of stamps, in collaboration with SPEA, demonstrates our ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance creativity and cultural engagement, particularly among younger generations. These stamps, featuring the innovative designs of students, reflect the artistic vision of Sharjah in promoting cultural values and strengthening national identity, bridging heritage and youthful creativity in a design that commemorates the cultural milestone of the Sharjah International Book Fair.”
