Training Program Addresses Adolescent Challenges in Private Schools

The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), in collaboration with the Family Development Department and Branches, launched a specialized training program titled "Adolescent Challenges." Targeting social workers, psychologists, and supervisors in private schools, the program aims to equip specialists with the skills and tools necessary to understand and address the challenges faced by adolescents effectively.
The program featured training sessions and interactive workshops covering key topics, including understanding the psychological and social needs of adolescents, strategies for managing difficult behaviors, and fostering effective communication with students. It also emphasized the role of schools in providing the psychological and social support that adolescents require, while highlighting preventative measures to address potential challenges and risks.
A team of experts in mental health and social development led the sessions, offering scientific insights and practical tools to improve specialists' approaches to dealing with students. The program supports the creation of an inclusive and nurturing educational environment that addresses the diverse needs of adolescents. The Child Protection and Well-being Office at SPEA underscored that this initiative aligns with its ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being of children and adolescents, as well as to improve the competencies of education professionals in meeting student needs and enriching their learning experiences.
His Excellency Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, stated that this initiative is a reflection of SPEA's vision aimed at "developing an engaging and proactive educational environment" that fosters comprehensive development within the school community. It equips specialists with effective tools that enable them to understand and analyze students' needs in innovative ways, thus enhancing academic and educational performance and creating a positive and advanced learning environment. He emphasized that such programs significantly contribute to the development of specialists' skills, allowing them to address the psychological and social challenges faced by students during early adolescence, ultimately improving the educational environment.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity provided by the program to acquire new expertise and practical skills. They praised the importance of continuing such initiatives to enhance their professional capabilities and improve relationships with students, contributing to the creation of an exceptional educational environment that meets the aspirations of all stakeholders.
