Overview of the Organizational Unit
The Compliance Department is a specialized supervisory unit concerned with monitoring the commitment of private educational institutions to the approved legislation and policies,
to ensure that institutions provide a safe educational environment that protects students’ rights and preserves their safety, through an integrated system that includes monitoring,
analysis and taking regulatory measures, which enhances the quality of the educational environment.
It also plays a pivotal role in protecting the child through professional paths that take into account the human rights dimensions,
in addition to spreading preventive awareness within the educational community,
and its periodic reports contribute to supporting decision-makers with an accurate view of the level of compliance in the private education sector.
Key Tasks and Roles
• Monitoring the compliance of private educational institutions with the legislation, policies, and regulations adopted at the Emirate of Sharjah level.
• Conducting regular and surprise field visits to verify the application of the Authority's requirements regarding the quality, safety, and security of the educational environment.
• Monitoring violations and observations, preparing and issuing monitoring reports, and submitting them to the competent authority.
• Protecting children by monitoring and following up on any cases of abuse or neglect that children may be exposed to in schools and nurseries.
• Coordinating with the competent authorities in the event of any threats or violations related to children's rights, to ensure the provision of a safe educational environment that complies with the Authority's standards.
